Honey cookies

Honey cookies

Delicious cookies with a hint of honey

  • Serves: 8

What you need:

  • 75g honey (weigh the jar with the honey in it and take out enough to reduce the weight by 75g)
  • 150g soft light brown sugar
  • 50g butter
  • 300g plain flour
  • 1 level tsp Dr.Oetker Baking Powder
  • 1 medium egg, beaten

What you do:

  1. Melt the honey, butter and sugar gently until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool slightly.
  2. Sift the flour into a bowl, add the beaten egg and the melted mixture to form a soft dough.
  3. Roll it out and cut out shapes with cutters.
  4. Bake the biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet for 10 - 12 minutes. Alternatively line baking sheets with Teflon liner. Allow to cool completely and decorate with icing as required.

  1. Dr. Oetker Ready To Use Fairy Cake Icing
  2. Dr. Oetker Chocolate Flavour Writing Icing /Dr. Oetker Writing Icing
  3. Or Dr. Oetker Ready to Roll Regal-Ice Icing (White or Chocolate)
  4. White vegetable fat
  5. Piping gel or jam to attach icing
  6. Dr. Oetker Liquid Food Colours
  7. Dr. Oetker Decorations - Shimmer Sugar, Mini Jazzies, Sugar Strands, Glimmer Hundreds & Thousands, Silver balls

Cook's tip:

To make spiced gingerbread cookies add 1 level tsp ground ginger and 1 level tsp mixed spice to the mix with the flour. For a more adult biscuit use soft dark brown sugar and add 1/2 tsp of finely ground black pepper with the flour.
