My first fish & chips

My first fish & chips

Delicious yet healthy fish and chips, ideal for a baby shifting from puree foods to chunkier.

  • Preparation: 20 mins
  • Serves: 4

What you need:

  • 2 plaice fillets, skinned (about 125g skinned weight)
  • 1 potato (about 175g)
  • 25g frozen peas
  • 25g Cheddar cheese, finely grated

What you do:

  1. Roughly chop the plaice. Peel and finely dice potato. Place both into the Philips AVENT Combined Steamer and Blender jug. Pour 100ml water into the boiler unit and steam for 10 minutes
  2. Add frozen peas and a further 50ml water into the steamer unit and steam for a further 5 minutes
  3. Turn the jug to the blending position and blitz 1-2 times until coarsely pureed
  4. Transfer to a bowl and stir in cheese and allow to cool before serving

Cook's tip:

Freeze your remaining portions of fish on the day of making and store in the freezer for 1 month. Defrost thoroughly and then reheat well and allow to cool before serving.
